C. Davon Lauder
Davon Lauder has served as a leader and participant of the Boy Scouts of America for 32 years. He has been a scoutmaster in Germany, California, Virginia, and Utah. For 27 years, Lauder has also given his time and service to the youth soccer program through coaching and as a referee. He assisted the Viewmont Vikings varsity team in becoming 4A Stake Champions, as well as helped organize the South Davis County Soccer association. Lauder has also assisted in organizing several of his class reunions. In his spare time, he volunteers by driving hearing impaired children to and from a school for the deaf and blind. He has also been volunteering in the Bountiful LDS temple for the past 23 years.
Lauder has received awards in the Army Systems Command in Worldwide Requisition Systems, and in the Germany European Electronic Intelligence Command (EEIC). While serving in the Boy Scouts of America, he has received the Silver Beaver Award, the Wood Badge Award, and the Order of the Arrow in three councils.
In high school, Lauder lettered in football, track, and baseball. He was subsequently awarded athletic scholarships to two colleges. He attended Rick’s College in 1957 and graduated there with an Associate’s Degree. He later graduated in the top of his class at the IBM Automation School. His professional jobs have included being a computer programmer for Hercules Power Co. in support of the third stage of the Minute Man Missile, and being a computer specialist for the EEIC. He has also worked at the Federal Aviation Agency and was recruited by the Computer Command Unit of the United States Army.
Devon has been married to Gloria Dill for the past 63 years and they have 6 children, 15 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
