Garth Flamm
Garth Flamm has given many years of service for his community. He has participated and held positions in the Lions Club, including that of club president, as well as served on the Madison Hospital Board and the Courthouse Restoration Committee. He has contributed to scholarship funds and various organizations to support students at Madison. While participating in the Lions Club, he performed vision screenings for local school students and collected glasses to help those in developing countries. Flamm received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award from Lions Club International in 2005. He has also been a big supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, of which, he and his six boys are Eagle Scouts.
Professionally, Flamm has served as a local mortician for over 45 years. He is continuing a family business that was founded in 1888, as part of the fourth generation. He has always tried to serve his community in this profession in the best way he could. He has gone out of his way to get to know the families he has served on a personal level, out of caring for others and trying to do the right thing.
As a teenager, he enjoyed school and was involved in basketball, football, and the boy’s federation. While at Madison he stood out in basketball and had a good career as center for the Bobcats. He later went on to play at Ricks College.
Garth married Linda Luke in 1973. They have 7 children and 34 grandchildren. Garth enjoys reading, spending time with family, standing in the garden, and short walks to the refrigerator.
